Darood-e-Shafi
English Translation
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad whenever the remembers remember him and whenever the heedless forget to remember him.
Urdu Translation
اے اللہ، محمد ﷺ پر رحمت نازل فرما جب بھی یاد کرنے والے انہیں یاد کریں اور جب بھی غافل لوگ ان کا ذکر نہ کریں۔
Benefits of Reciting Darood-e-Shafi
1. Obeying Allah’s Direct Command
English
Reciting any Darood, including Darood-e-Shafi, is fulfilling the clear command of Allah in the Quran:
“Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings upon the Prophet. O you who believe, send blessings upon him and send salutations in abundance.” (Surah Al-Ahzab 33:56)
When a believer recites Darood, they align themselves with what Allah and His angels are already doing, which brings divine closeness and mercy.

درود شافی سمیت کوئی بھی درود پڑھنا اللہ کے اس واضح حکم کی پیروی ہے جو قرآن میں ہے
“بیشک اللہ اور اس کے فرشتے نبی ﷺ پر درود بھیجتے ہیں، اے ایمان والو تم بھی ان پر درود بھیجو اور خوب سلام بھیجو” (سورۃ الاحزاب 33:56)
جب کوئی مومن درود پڑھتا ہے تو وہ اس عمل میں شامل ہو جاتا ہے جو اللہ اور فرشتے پہلے سے کر رہے ہیں، اس سے بندے کو اللہ کی قربت اور رحمت نصیب ہوتی ہے۔
2. Ten Blessings in Return
English:
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever sends one blessing upon me, Allah sends ten blessings upon him.” (Sahih Muslim)
This means every single recitation of Darood-e-Shafi brings tenfold mercy, forgiveness, and spiritual light upon the reciter.
Urdu:
نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا:
“جو شخص مجھ پر ایک مرتبہ درود بھیجتا ہے، اللہ اس پر دس رحمتیں نازل فرماتا ہے” (صحیح مسلم)
یعنی دروتِ شافی کا ہر ایک دفعہ پڑھنا دس گنا رحمت، مغفرت اور روحانی نور کا سبب بنتا ہے۔
3. Acceptance of Duas
English:
Ibn Qayyim and many scholars wrote that sending blessings on the Prophet ﷺ before and after dua is a strong reason for acceptance. Darood acts as a spiritual bridge that makes supplications reach Allah with honor. This is mentioned in classical works like Jala-ul-Afham.

امام ابن القیم اور دیگر علما نے لکھا ہے کہ دعا سے پہلے اور بعد میں درود پڑھنا دعا کی قبولیت کا ایک مضبوط ذریعہ ہے۔ درود ایک روحانی وسیلہ ہے جو دعا کو عزت و احترام کے ساتھ اللہ تک پہنچاتا ہے۔ یہ بات “جلا الافہام” جیسی کتب میں مذکور ہے۔
4. Removal of Worries and Sins
English:
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever sends blessings upon me abundantly, Allah will remove his worries and forgive his sins.” (Tirmidhi)
Reciting Darood-e-Shafi regularly brings inner peace, relieves stress, and cleanses the heart from sins.
Urdu:
نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا:
“جو شخص مجھ پر کثرت سے درود بھیجتا ہے، اللہ اس کے غم دور کر دیتا ہے اور اس کے گناہ معاف فرما دیتا ہے” (ترمذی)
درود شافی کا باقاعدہ ورد دل کو سکون دیتا ہے، پریشانیوں کو کم کرتا ہے اور گناہوں کو مٹاتا ہے۔
5. Darood Reaches the Prophet ﷺ Directly
English:
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Send blessings upon me, for your blessings are presented to me.” (Abu Dawood)
Even though he has passed from this world, Allah arranges for every Darood to be conveyed to him. Reciting Darood-e-Shafi connects the believer’s heart directly to the Messenger ﷺ.

نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا:
“مجھ پر درود بھیجو، تمہارا درود مجھ تک پہنچایا جاتا ہے” (ابو داود)
اگرچہ آپ ﷺ اس دنیا سے پردہ فرما چکے ہیں، اللہ ہر درود کو ان تک پہنچاتا ہے۔ درود شافی پڑھنے سے مومن کا دل براہِ راست نبی ﷺ سے جڑ جاتا ہے۔
6. Continuous Reward Even When Others Forget
English:
The wording of Darood-e-Shafi has a unique quality. It asks Allah to send blessings on the Prophet ﷺ every time someone remembers him and even when people forget. This makes it a powerful continuous act, multiplying the reward beyond personal recitation.

درود شافی کے الفاظ میں ایک خاص فضیلت ہے۔ اس میں اللہ سے دعا کی گئی ہے کہ وہ نبی ﷺ پر رحمت نازل فرمائے جب کوئی یاد کرے اور جب لوگ غافل ہوں۔ اس سے یہ درود ایک مسلسل نیکی بن جاتا ہے جو پڑھنے والے کے لیے بے شمار اجر کا باعث ہے۔
7. Blessings in Life, Family, and Work
English:
Scholars like Imam Nawawi and Qurtubi wrote that frequent Darood brings barakah (blessings) into a person’s life, family, and livelihood. It strengthens spiritual protection and invites divine help in unseen ways.

امام نووی اور قرطبی جیسے علما نے لکھا ہے کہ درود شریف کا کثرت سے ورد زندگی، خاندان اور روزی میں برکت کا باعث بنتا ہے۔ یہ روحانی حفاظت کو مضبوط کرتا ہے اور اللہ کی مدد کو ایسے طریقے سے لاتا ہے جو انسان کے تصور سے باہر ہے۔
8. High Status on the Day of Judgment
English:
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“The closest to me on the Day of Judgment are those who send the most blessings upon me.” (Tirmidhi)
Reciting Darood-e-Shafi regularly brings a person near to the Prophet ﷺ in the Hereafter.
Urdu:
نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا:
“قیامت کے دن میرے سب سے قریب وہ لوگ ہوں گے جو مجھ پر سب سے زیادہ درود بھیجتے ہیں” (ترمذی)
درود شافی کا کثرت سے ورد کرنے والا آخرت میں نبی ﷺ کے قریب ہوگا۔
9. Reward Even After Death
English:
Darood is a form of dhikr that continues to bring reward even after a person passes away, if they made it a regular part of their life. This is mentioned in the works of scholars like Suyuti and Qadi Iyad.

درود ایک ایسا ذکر ہے جو بندے کے دنیا سے چلے جانے کے بعد بھی اسے اجر پہنچاتا رہتا ہے، اگر وہ زندگی میں اس کا اہتمام کرتا تھا۔ یہ بات امام سیوطی اور قاضی عیاض جیسے علما کی کتب میں موجود ہے۔

درود شافی محض الفاظ نہیں بلکہ ایک دائمی عبادت ہے جو اللہ کے حکم کو پورا کرتی ہے، رحمت لاتی ہے، دعاؤں کو قبول کرواتی ہے، گناہوں کو مٹاتی ہے، دل کو نبی ﷺ سے جوڑتی ہے اور زندگی کے بعد بھی اجر جاری رکھتی ہے۔
